Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Vice President of Sales, this position is responsible for all sales and field service activities associated with the Insured Product vertical at National Insurance Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hire, manage and develop Insured Product salespeople.
- Manage and develop Account Representative Manager.
- Serve on the Management Team. Participate and support major company initiatives (Rocks).
- Develop and execute vertical sales strategy.
- Provide input on vertical service strategy.
- Develop and manage regional strategic relationships (MSBA, NASB, CESA’s, etc.)
- Develop and manage regional agent relationships (Sutton, Walsh, Wanderscheid, Becker, etc.)
- Follow AP quarterly check in process on employee performance.
- Quarterly spend at least one day in the field with each sales rep.
- Weekly (monthly??) prospecting/pipeline reviews
- Sales training/development using the Mike Weinberg ‘New Sales Simplified Approach.’
- Provide input to Marketing when requested.
- Manage large case RFP response and finalist presentations including participating in pre-quote calls and post quote/pre-submission strategic review calls. Participate in finalist calls on large cases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the group insurance industry.
- Five years’ experience in a sales environment or any combination of education and/or experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Group insurance experience preferred.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time and accommodation of overnight stays multiple times per month.
- Ability to attend conferences and associated networking events.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Possess the ability to read and understand insurance contract language.
- Must have excellent command of the English language, oral and written.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills, and the ability to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets.
- Incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Normal Working Hours and Days:
Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or as mutually agreed to by the parties); 1 hour lunch; overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel by car, plane, or other common means of transportation.
- Position is primarily sedentary in nature with relatively equal amounts of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Infrequent light physical effort may be required.
