Tails on the Trail 2017 and the Wisconsin Humane Society

The stage has been set for the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Tails on the Trail 5k run/walk OR /1 mile walk.  Join your co-workers for competition and all around fun on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Veteran’s Park on Milwaukee’s Lakefront.  See below for the deets and tails:

• Registration Options:
  • Youth 5K (participants 6 – 15) – $20
  • Adult 5K (16 and up) – $30
  • Youth Walker – $15
  • Adult Walker – $25
  • Virtual Walker – free!

• Register with or without your pet (maximum of 2)

• To register, to to the WHS website and:
  • Click on “Register”
  • Click on “Join an Existing Team”
  • Select “Join as a New Participant” (unless you have registered in previous years – then use “returning user”
  • Find NIS by using the drop down option or “Search for Team”
  • Search NIS
  • Join us!
  • NOTE: You will be asked to register and pay the registration fee. NIS employees can submit this cost to HR as part of the Health Club Dues (up to $50 per quarter)

• To donate, to to the WHS website and:
  • Start in the same place
  • Select Donate to a Participant
  • Select Search for a Team, team name is ‘NIS’
  • Make a gift!
  • After the race, NIS will match all funds donated through the race!

Timeline

• Date: Saturday, June 24, 2017
• Location: Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront (Next to the Gift of Wings Kite Store at1300 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr. Milwaukee, WI 53202) View park layout and directions here.
• Race Start Time: 9:30 a.m. run starts, 10:00 a.m walk follows
  • Registration starts at 8:00 a.m.
• 8:00 a.m.: Registration & prize pick-up begins! 
  • Turn in all donations & receive your prizes!
  • Day-of registration opens!
  • Start visiting our vendors and exhibitors

• 9:30 a.m.: 5K starts!
  • Enjoy a timed 5K run or walk around the lagoon and through Veterans Park!

• 10:00 a.m.: 1-mile walk starts!
  • Enjoy a beautiful one-mile walk around Milwaukee’s lakefront!

• 11:00 a.m.: Our post run/walk festival begins!
  • Vendors & exhibitor booths
  • Grab a bite from food vendors, including Holey Moley, Beatrix Foods, Belair and more!
  • Dog agility course
  • Let Fido play in our Doggie Splash Zone!
  • Lure courses
  • Doggie Dash! See how fast Fido runs in our very own Doggie Dash speed zone- will they be our Top Dog? **Prizes for the fastest dogs this year!
  • Ask the Behavior Expert!  Experts will be available to answer all of your canine behavior questions!
  • Dog games
  • Let Fido “bob” in our kiddie pools for delicious treats he can’t resist!
  • Photo Zone! Take your picture in front of Milwaukee’s breathtaking skyline!
  • Prize Wheel – where everyone’s a winner!
  • And so much more!

• 11:30 a.m.: Tails on the Trail Doggie Fashion Show! 
  • Strut your stuff on our “catwalk” to compete for best dressed and best human/animal look-a-like!
