Account Representative - Minnesota Office

Position Summary:

You will report directly to the Senior Account Representative Manager. Must be able to work within a team environment, which includes but is not limited to the Insured Product Vice President, other regional Sales and Service personnel, and internal departments within National Insurance Services. This is a hybrid position with a primary focus on the service and retention of clients. You will also have the opportunity to discover sales opportunities. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • You will be the primary contact for our field-assigned clients in MN & WI
  • Reports to Account Representative Manager but will also work closely with other internal departments and associated leadership.
  • You will be required to meet with clients to perform proactive Best Practice and service reviews, which focus on plan provisions and overall administration. The main goal is to eliminate potential liabilities that may fall back onto clients and avoid improper administration of their insurance plans
  • You will serve as the liaison between clients, National Insurance Services, partner brokers, and our partner insurance carriers and administrators
  • Other functions include needs analysis, identifying cross-sell opportunities, renewal and rate reviews, provision change requests, market bidding, gap analysis, and employer/employee education
  • Must be comfortable presenting to small & large groups of people
  • Must have capability to understand & communicate insurance terminology & benefits
  • This position will be considered for remote work from home.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the group insurance industry
  • Ability to travel a minimum 50% of the time
  • Human Resources and/or past insurance experience highly desired
  • Life, Disability, Dental, Vision, and Supplementary Insurance background highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of leave administration highly desired
  • Basic literacy in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, EXCEL, and PowerPoint) required
  • Must be organized & can prioritize according to company initiatives
  • Comfortable in group and presentation settings
  • Ability to work in both individual and team settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical ability is required to be able to analyze and identify problems, offer proposed solutions, and implement agreed-upon solutions
  • Ability to read and understand contract language
  • High attention to details
  • MN/WI Life and Health License or ability to acquire those licenses within 6 weeks of the date of hire
  • Must reside in MN or Western WI

Normal Working Hours and Days:

Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or as mutually agreed to by the parties), 30-minute lunch, Overtime as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position is primarily sedentary in nature with relatively equal amounts of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Infrequent light physical effort may be required.
