Quarter 1 Round up and Quarter 2
Quarter one is officially over and what a great way to start the year! We had some great events with our needs based drive and March Madness Luncheon. With your help we raised $1,503.10 including the NIS match as well as 58.36 cubic feet of non-perishable food and non-food items. Thank you so much for supporting South Milwaukee Human Concerns through the CCC!
Quarter 2 – Animal Welfare
Quarter 2 is going to be something a little different for the CCC. Instead of supporting one charity, we will be supporting one cause, animal welfare, with various activities raising funds or goods for multiple organizations.
Wish List Drive
Beginning April 17th, we will be hosting a needs drive with items donated to Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) and Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) based out of Waukesha. These two organizations accept any and all animals in need regardless of condition or temperament. To learn more about these organizations and how you can become involved, see their websites above. The wish lists can be downloaded and will also be affixed to each box. The drive will go through the end of 2nd quarter, June 30th.
Cutest Pet Contest (Part Deux)
We will also be hosting a return of the Cutest Pet Contest! If you have a pet and you can’t keep how adorable they are to yourself, show us! Submit a human-free picture to the CCC and we’ll put them all together for everyone to vote! You can submit one or all of your pets. You can vote on as many times as you’d like. The pet that raises the most money wins! All proceeds will be split evenly and donated to MADACC and HAWS.

Save the date!
To wrap up the second quarter, we will be partnering with the Wellness Committee to participate in the Wisconsin Humane Society’s annual Tails on the Trail on June 24th, 2017 at Veteran’s Park at the Milwaukee lake front. The 1 mile walk or 5K run can be done with or without your favorite pooch. More details to follow.
